How It Works
Any individual who has completed a recognized addiction treatment program within the last year can apply to become a member of Oxford House. The process is started by a counselor referral or perhaps from a medical professional
The Oxford House model subscribes to nine Traditions, or principles. Although the operational aspect of the Canadian Oxford House model may differ somewhat from the American model, our Traditions remain true to its origins
The Oxford House concept is based on a successful model developed in the U.S. The first Oxford House was established in 1975 in Silver Spring, Maryland as a result of federal government cutbacks in other programs
